An Apple for Teacher›
It's beginning to feel like fall, that time of year when we pack up bikinis and pull out plaid skirts and cozy scarves. Leaves are beginning to think about turning, the sun is angling down in the sky, and everyone is starting to get back into the bustle of work and school.
Here at Chicago Pinup Photography, we love a good themed photoshoot. Choosing to do your pinup photos around a central theme can help create a cohesive final product and makes playing around with props and different poses so much fun. Also, for the indecisive among us, it cuts down on ay stress you may be feeling about which lingerie or props to choose in the first place.
Picking a theme gives you a clear direction, and you can really use it to play to your biggest strengths or the fantasies of the person you're giving it to! Do some digging and make a list; with any luck, you'll wind up with more than one scenario to pick from. If you're still not sure where to start, here are some quick-and-dirty suggestions.
Things to keep in mind when choosing a photo shoot theme:
Is it something you can easily bring props for? A good photoshoot theme should be fairly easy to stage and not rely on elaborate backgrounds. The good news is that there's always a simpler version available. Rocket scientist? Not so much. Doctor? Perfect!
Is it something you're comfortable with doing? Just because it's somebody else's dearest fantasy doesn't mean you’d want to do it. Pick something that you can enjoy and have fun with; feeling self-conscious will show in the photos.
If it's holiday-themed, does it fit the season you are giving it in? You wouldn't want to give someone Easter bunny photos in, say, July. Or . . . maybe you do? No judgment; we don't know your life. Just make sure that the timing works for you.
Does it sound exciting to you? Above all, we want you to be excited about your shoot! Everything about pinup should be fun, fun, fun! Don't settle for anything that doesn't give you a little twinkle in your eye or make you giggle with anticipation.
Naturally, at this time of year, we get a lot of requests for “sexy librarian” or “teacher” themes. I'm sure that we don't have to explain why! It's a classic theme, actual profession, and fantasy that works really well in the studio or various settings. All you need is a pair of glasses, some apples, a stack of books, maybe a strand of pearls. The rest is gravy and up to you. And, of course, you need the perfect makeup, lighting, and focus! That's where we come in.
Here are some more fun prop ideas for a teacher-themed shoot:
An antique desk
A chalkboard and chalk
A grade book and old-fashioned pen
A pencil skirt
